Setting Your Browser's Language

You need to make sure your browser's language setting matches the language in which you normally receive mail messages and in which the documents you want to view are written.

Microsoft Internet Explorer

  1. In Microsoft* Internet Explorer 6.x, click Tools, then Internet Options to display the Internet Options dialog box.

  1. On the General page, click Languages to display the Language Preferences dialog box.

  2. Add your language to the list.

  3. Make your language the first language in the list.

  4. Click OK to save the changes.

  5. Close your browser.

  6. Open your browser and log in to WebAccess.

Mozilla Firefox* for Windows

  1. In Mozilla Firefox for Windows, click Tools, then Options to display the Internet Options dialog box.

  2. On the left panel, click General to open the General Settings page.

  3. Click Language to open the Languages and Character Encoding dialog.

  4. Add your language to the list.

  5. Choose your character encoding from a drop-down list.

  6. Click OK to save the changes.

  7. Close your browser.

  8. Open your browser and log in to WebAccess.

Mozilla Firefox for Linux

  1. In Mozilla Firefox for Linux, click Edit, then Preferences to display the Internet Options dialog box.

  2. On the left panel, click General to open the General Settings page.

  3. Click Language to open the Languages and Character Encoding dialog.

  4. Add your language to the list.

  5. Choose your character encoding from a drop-down list.

  6. Click OK to save the changes.

  7. Close your browser.

  8. Open your browser and log in to WebAccess.

Safari*

  1. Open the System Preferences window, and then click International.

  2. Drag your desired language to the top of the list and drop it.

Selecting the Correct Encoding

When your browser receives encoded GroupWise WebAccess information, it uses the currently selected character-set encoding to display the information. For this reason, you need to make sure that you've selected the correct character-set encoding for your browser's language.

Microsoft Internet Explorer

  1. In Internet Explorer 6.x, click View, then Encoding to display the Encoding submenu.

  2. Click the appropriate character-set encoding for your language.

    Important: On Windows workstations, WebAccess uses Windows encoding to display characters. On other platforms, WebAccess uses ISO encoding. If both encoding types are displayed, choose the encoding (Windows or ISO) that is appropriate for your platform.

Mozilla Firefox* for Windows

Select View, then Character Encoding, and then select Unicode (UTF-8).

Mozilla Firefox for Linux

Select View, then Character Encoding, and then select Unicode (UTF-8).

Konqueror

  1. In Konqueror, click on Settings, then Configure Konqueror to open the configuration dialog.

  2. In the left panel, click Fonts. In the right panel, click the Default Encoding list.

  3. Select the proper encoding from the list.

Safari*

  1. Open the View menu, then Text Encoding, and then select UTF8.
